Caherlissakill holds a broad oval cashel on a Galway ridge, its drystone wall buried under grass and age. The fairies may have taken the shape, but the underground passage inside remains a human act of craft. That is the strange part. The legend changed the outline, yet the diggers still cut through solid earth to build a chamber nobody can point to now.

On a ridge in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular cashel (N-S 46m, E-W 41m) defined by a low grassed-over drystone.wall.
