Fairy fort / ringfort in Belleville Demesne

Belleville Demesne holds a subcircular rath thirty-seven metres wide, its earthen bank still defining the shape in level grassland. A modern gap at the east may mark the original entrance, inviting imagination about who walked through and when. Two hundred metres west, another ringfort waits, suggesting a small cluster of lives rather than a lonely marker. The place feels inhabited even in silence, as if people still move between the two circles under the Galway sky.
