Fairy fort in Ballintober is a subcircular rath on a grassy rise, still defined by an earthen bank though modern gaps and a lost outer edge have softened its shape. Inside lies a probable man-made underground passage, the kind of hidden chamber that invites more wonder than proof. People may have sheltered, stored or concealed things there before the land was changed, while local memory assigns the fort to fairy rather than human hands.

On a rise in undulating grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (ENE-WSW 33m, NNW-SSE 26.6m) defined by a bank. Gaps at WSW and NW appear modern. According to local information, the outer bank was removed in 1974 during land development. Within the interior is a probable Man-made underground passage (GA086-033001-).
