What is recorded here

In NW quadrant of a ringfort (GA086-033----). According to local tradition, there is a 'cave' within this ringfort. All that is visible is a nettle-filled depression (L 5.7m, Wth 2.2m), running ENE-WSW and up to 0.5m in depth. The landowner removed a large slab from here some years ago. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
