Site of Lisnamoltaun Castle — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Lisnamoltaun Castle vanished from a steep Galway slope, leaving no stone or ditch for modern eyes to find. It may have stood as a narrow rectangular house inside a curved enclosure, watching the grassland while a nearby ringfort endured. Forgetting removed the castle, but the angle of the land and the memory of a building remain.

On a steep S-facing slope in grassland. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a rectangular building (L c. 12m, Wth c. 6m) within a D-shaped enclosure. No visible surface trace survives. A ringfort (GA086-191----) is visible c. 90m SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
