Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Woodfarm

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not for entry, only for seeing. The ring in Woodfarm keeps that boundary still, its shallow scarps and outer ditch marking a small circle on the south-facing slope. People may have lived there before fairy warnings entered the story, but the land still treats the circle as off-limits.
Situated on a S-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. Consists of a roughly circular area (33.4m N-S; 26m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 2m; H 0.3m) with an external fosse (Wth 2.1m), and traces of a counter-scarp bank (int. H 0.2m; Wth 1.5m; ext. H 0.2m) from SE to SW. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 12 July 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
