Twenty-eight metres of packed earth still stand in Trippul East, a shallow ditch circling the base and two gaps breaking the wall. The eastern gap holds a narrow causeway, suggesting people once crossed the ditch deliberately rather than climbing the bank. There is no roof, chamber or visible hearth left behind. The fort keeps its shape in open country, waiting for someone to imagine the lives that turned its soil into a home.

Internal diameter 28m N-S, 27m E-W This sub-circular univallate rath is enclosed by a well-defined bank and exterior fosse. The earthen enclosing bank is 1.2m high externally, c .8m high internally and 4m wide at the base. The fosse is shallow and U-shaped, measuring c 1m in width and .5m below the surrounding land. Two gaps are to be noted SW and E, measuring 3m and 4m respectively. The gap on the E side has a causeway leading across the fosse measuring 4m in width and .35m above the fosse.
