Fairy fort in Toora, County Offaly: a D-shaped earthen ringfort, 42m across, built into the NW face of a hill. In the 1970s a bulldozer opened it like a letter nobody had addressed. What remains is a memory of a bank, loose stone on top, and a hole in the ground where a life may have been kept warm.

Situated on the NW facing slope of rising ground in upland area in undulating countryside. The site was bulldozed in the 1970's and described by Wheeler (ASI file 1974) as a D-shaped (42m diam) enclosure enclosed by an earth and stone bank with a lot of loose stone on top of the bank with no evidence of an outer fosse. The ringfort appears to have been built into the NW face of the hill.
