McCrea’s 1793 map marked two adjoining enclosures at Tonyellida, yet no other chart records them and the western feature has vanished from memory. The earth may still hold its shape beneath pasture, waiting for rain to reveal the ridge or a spade to bite into forgotten wall. People built rings there because ring shape resists forgetting, even when names and markers disappear.

Situated at the SW-facing slope of a low NW-SE spur. Two adjoining enclosures are marked on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793) at Toneyellida, but they are not recorded on any other map and the precise location of this western feature is not known.
