Fairy fort in Straboe, County Carlow: a 50m circular earthwork with a low one-metre bank, no clear entrance or ditch trace, later trimmed into a field boundary with granite boulders. People may have lived, hidden or marked claim there before the land was divided; the fairies, in local story, kept what remained.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Circular area (diam. 50m) enclosed by low, insubstantial bank ( H 1m). Bank modified as field boundary by addition of granite boulder facing. No visible surface traces of fosse or entrance.
