Stagmount in County Kerry, Ireland, holds a hidden forty-five-metre ringfort that vanished beneath pasture and memory. A 1977 aerial photograph still shows its circular shadow through differing grass colours, though no wall or ditch remains visible at ground level. The fort may have stood for centuries before ploughs and feet erased it, yet the earth still marks its shape in subtle life. What was built there, who lived there, and when it disappeared are no longer certain.

In pasture, on a SW-facing slope. According to local information, differential growth patterns were noted in the grass and other vegetation to the N and S of a recent field boundary. Differential vegetation colour in an aerial photograph (GSIAP, W 449-50), taken in 1977, indicates a circular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) in this location. This enclosure is not visible at ground level.
