Lisheennamuck (Remains of) — Report the wrong picture

Lisheennamuck is a ruined earthen ringfort in County Kerry pasture, its semicircular bank broken in two places and choked with briars and ferns. The 1846 map still draws it as a full thirty-five metre circle, suggesting the land once held a complete enclosure before erosion or neglect took the rest. Whoever lived there left no stone marker, only a shallow arc of soil that the grass keeps trying to erase.

In undulating pasture. An arc of earthen bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.7m) W-E abuts a linear field boundary at S (L 18.5m), enclosing a semicircular area (dim. 16.2m N-S). It is best preserved along the NW arc. There are breaks in the bank at WNW (Wth 2.95m) and at NNW (Wth 5.2m). The bank and the uneven surface of the interior are overgrown with briars and ferns. The rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map.
