Fairy fort is a hidden ring on a Monaghan drumlin, recorded in 1834 but lost beneath pasture and field banks. It may still exist, twisted into ordinary boundaries or buried under grass. The fortran forgot its own shape, yet the land kept the circle long enough for one map to catch it.

Located on the steep NW-facing spine of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) is depicted at this location only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic script as a ‘fort’. It is also known locally as a fort, but no archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture, although it is possible that part of the perimeter could be respected by or incorporated into straight sections of field bank that change from a N-S direction at N to NE-SW.
