Fairy fort in Seskin North is a 25m earthen ring with a level interior, 2m bank and outer fosse, set on the NE bank of a small stream in marshy Nore valley grasslands. It is the kind of place where people once drew a line around the unusual and called it fairy, because the shape appeared made rather than grown. The line is still there, slightly broken by water and time, marking a small circle of human intention in a flat, wet landscape.

On the NE bank of a small stream on the floor of the Nore river valley, in marshy grasslands. The low-lying area is intersected by many small stream beds. Land rises gently to W and NW to crest of low hills bordering the Nore valley. A circular area (diam. c. 25m) consisting of a level interior enclosed by earthen bank (Wth c. 2m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. A fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Seskin North is a circular earthwork enclosure typical of early-medieval Ireland, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries. Local folklore associates such sites with the supernatural, often believed to be dwellings of the fairies or ancient spirits.
