Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Scottstown

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Scottstown holds a forgotten ringfort where a steep slope drops toward the west. Its ditch has vanished from human memory, yet satellite imagery still reveals a perfect circle forty-five metres across. The fort resisted time itself, preserving its shape long after stone walls crumbled elsewhere.
Situated on a steep SW-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular area (int. diam. c. 45m) defined by single fosse (Wth c. 3-6m) is visible only on Apple Maps. There are possible gaps in the fosse at SE (Wth c. 10m) and W (Wth c. 8m). It was first reported by Jean Charles Caillere.
