What is recorded here

Galway field, not a Scottish fort, holds a circular earthwork twenty-six metres across. Two banks and a ditch enclose grass where a field cut bruises the outer ridge. People may have lived, herded or hidden inside the ring before the land was measured. The fairies never answered questions about the fort, but they still own the shape of the hole.

In low-lying grassland. Circular rath (D 26.5m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from NNE through E to SSE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. A field bank cuts the outer bank at E. A. CBG (GA018-059001-) occupies the interior.
