Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rathreagh Beg

Rathreagh Beg holds a faded ring, twenty-five metres across, where a low scarp still marks the edge of a forgotten home. The eastern break suggests a doorway, while the southern rise hints that the fort faced the sun or watched the valley below. Cattle graze the level interior now, but the shape remains clear enough to imagine lamps, tools and arguments inside. The larger ringfort thirty metres south confirms that this was not a random mound but a neighbourhood, perhaps a satellite dwelling for a family, herdsman or outcast. Fairy fort is the local name, yet human hands built the scarped edge and chose the slope.
