What is recorded here
Rathpalatine holds a faded earthen ring, forty metres across, where a farm track still skirts the broken bank. Cattle graze the shallow fosse and level pasture, unaware they walk across a boundary marked long before roads or fences. The earth remains slightly proud, as if remembering the shape of hands that dug it.
In level pasture. Roughly circular area (44m N-S; 42m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.85m) with an external fosse (D 0.4m; Wth 2.4m). Bank has been levelled NNE->E and fosse infilled E->WSW. Farm trackway skirts site NE->E. Interior, under pasture, slopes gently up towards centre.
