What is recorded here

Fairy fort is a lost circular enclosure about 30 metres across, buried beneath tillage on a west-facing slope in Rathfilode. It had a northern gap and stood tall enough to appear on a 1935 map before ploughing erased its bank. The name suggests people once believed fairies lived there, yet the shape and setting match an ordinary human dwelling or defensive ring. Forgetting the boundary does not remove the lives that turned it into a home.
