No, that is an anglicised label for a bawn, a defensive enclosure, not a fairy fort. Rathcor holds a true ringfort: a raised subcircular area thirty-five metres north-south and thirty-three and a half metres east-west, bounded at the northeast by a wide low bank six metres thick and elsewhere by a scarp nearly a metre high, with a broad external fosse from south through north to northeast. The entrance has disappeared, and a shallow central depression recorded in 1975 still has no explanation.

In level pasture. A raised subcircular area (35m N-S; 33.5m E-W) enclosed at NE by a wide low bank of earth and stone (Wth 6m; H 0.3-0.5m) and elsewhere defined by a scarp (H 0.8-1m). A wide external fosse (Wth 6.3-7m; D 0.2-1.4m) survives from S-N-NE . The original entrance is not recognisable.
