Fairy fort in Rassan, County Cavan: a raised circular area, thirty-five metres across, enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and the remains of a largely infilled fosse. A break in the bank at east may mark the original entrance. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the shape suggested more than a farmyard or a forgotten camp.
