Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed. In Powerstown, a levelled circular area twenty-eight metres wide holds a faint ridge and shallow ditch on a south-facing slope. A moated site and another ringfort stand within eighty metres, suggesting a small cluster of occupied ground rather than one isolated curiosity. The fairies inherit the shape; the humans disappeared from the story.

H 0.5m); shallow external fosse SW->NE. Possible entrance (Wth 6m) to SE. Moated site (CO025-07401-) lies c. 40m to W and ringfort (CO025-07403-) lies c. 70m to SSW.
