Mortons and Poles, County Cavan. Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Poles. A fairy fort is a small circular enclosure, usually grassy, with a low bank or ditch. People called it a fairy fort because it looked like a house for fairies, not a human building.
Raised circular area (int. dims. 28m N-S; 29.5m E-W) enclosed by a well-preserved earthen bank from SE-S-SW. Wide break in bank at ESE may represent original entrance.
