Fairy forts are often earthen rings built by people and later renamed because they looked empty, strange, or abandoned. In Pluckanes North, a circular enclosure about thirty-five metres across appeared on an 1842 map, but overgrowth has since hidden any clear surface trace. The loss of its visible edge does not erase the shape; it returns the place to the region of stories, where human making and fairy belief become hard to separate.
