What is recorded here

Situated on a slight NNW facing slope in relatively low lying grassland, surrounded by hilly land from N-E-S. The stream which marks the townland boundary with Piercefield lies 25m to the N. An oval shaped area (approx. diam. 33m N-S; 37m E-W) enclosed by two earthen banks and wide shallow intervening fosse with a slight outer fosse. The outer bank and fosse are only visible from SW-S-SSE. There is an entrance gap (Wth 1.2m) in the inner bank at NW and a corresponding gap (Wth 1m) in the outer bank. Four house sites are visible in the interior (WM011-095001-/004-). See attached plan of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI.
