Fairy fort in Oldtown, County Kildare: a 44m earthen ring on a low pasture ridge, its shallow fosse and thin bank barely visible beside marshy ground. The northern gap suggests an entrance, not abandonment. People may have lived there before the land softened around them, or the story may be that the fort refused to be forgotten.

On a low NE-SW pasture ridge surrounded by marshy ground. A slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 36m NW-SE; overall diam. c. 44m NW-SE) rises slightly towards the perimeter where very slight traces of an enclosing earthen bank survive (ext. H 0.6m), with a very shallow outer fosse (Wth 2m ; D 0.1m). There is a large gap in both bank and fosse at N.
