Fairy fort in Newtown (darcy) is a subcircular earthen ringfort on a grassy rise in County Galway, about 38 metres north-south and 34.5 metres east-west. Two banks and a ditch still mark most of its edge, though modern gaps and a field bank have cut through the older shape. It is the kind of place where people may have lived, hidden, or simply pointed and warned others away.

On a rise in rolling grassland. Subcircular rath (N-S 38m, E-W 34.5m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank is present from NE through S to SW; no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. Numerous gaps in the enclosing elements appear modern. A field bank cuts the monument at N.
