What is recorded here

Mullanafinnog holds a thirty-metre circular fort marked by a fading earthen bank and outer ditch. It is a rath, an old human anchor in the county landscape. The name invites fairy tales, but the shape records human labour. That tension between invented wonder and measured stone is the place itself.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
