What is recorded here
No amount of wishing brings back the vanished fort, because a building cut through it and erased the last visible edge. What remains is a hole in the landscape where a living place used to be.
Situated immediately N of some houses on the 1841-42 OS map, this circular enclosure has been cut to the S by a building, marked on the later edition, and today no surface trace remains.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 308. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
