What is recorded here

Mosestown in County Cork once held a slight earthen ringfort, now reduced to faint traces that may have vanished beneath fields or memory. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the usual human shape had blurred into something older and less reasonable. What remains is a gap where a wall should be, inviting imagination to fill the hole with lives, warnings or jokes.

Power (1940, 18) records 'slight remains of a lios' in this townland. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
