Fairy fort in Magheraboy Lower is a raised oval area, about 67 metres east-west and 49 metres north-south, enclosed by a low earthen bank partly faced with stone and a shallow fosse. Its original entrance has disappeared, but the ring still stands inside the field boundary, marking a place where people may have lived, hidden or worshipped before the land was divided into farms. The fairies in its name suggest that later people treated it as charged, perhaps dangerous, perhaps sacred, and left it alone rather than explaining it away.
