Fairy fort in Lougharuane: a 25-metre earthen ring drawn on the 1842 Ordnance Survey map, now reduced to low undulations in level pasture. It may have been a human dwelling, a boundary marker or a seasonal shelter, but local imagination has claimed it for the fairies. That is not dismissal; it is the way communities preserve what measurement cannot capture. The earth has not forgotten the shape, only the hands that made it.
