What is recorded here

Mortons and others may have built the earthen ring, yet fairy tales still claim it. That is not a contradiction. The distinction between human and phantom has not been settled.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 27m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank. Original entrance not recognisable. Internal area has been planted with coniferous trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
