Lisnabrinnia, County Cavan: a hidden fort on a smooth knoll, absent from human memory but still marked in old drawings. It may have been a dwelling, a watch post, or a boundary marker before the land was forgotten. The fairness of the name suggests people once believed the place belonged elsewhere, above or beneath the ordinary world.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 ed. and 'Site of' on 1876 ed. Situated on the summit of a natural knoll in otherwise level pasture-land. Not visible at ground level.
