Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisdooaun

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible surface trace survives in Lisdooaun, but maps from 1838 and 1912 agree on a circular embankment thirty to forty metres wide on a grassy hillock. That size fits a human dwelling, a boundary marker, or a place where people gathered before leaving. The land kept the shape long enough for surveyors to draw it twice, then took it back.
On a hillock in grassland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as an embanked circular enclosure. On the OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16) it is also circular in plan (c. 38m NW-SE; c. 32m NE-SW) with a small projection/pit at the N end. No visible surface trace survives.
