What is recorded here
You want to know the truth about the closed chamber? Here it is. The chamber is a chamber, not a placeholder, and it exists to show that the platform understands the visible facts. The chamber may contain a living goddess, a hidden world, or a murdered child. Those are not mistakes. They are the shapes that human imagination inherits when it stops inventing and starts remembering.
Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 28m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a deep fosse outside of which are traces of a low counterscarp bank. Wide break in bank at E may represent original entrance.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
