Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lecarrow (frenchpark By., Aughrim West Ed) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lecarrow (frenchpark By., Aughrim West Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass platform sits on a slight rise at the west end of a low ridge, bounded by a scarp, berm and outer bank with a shallow fosse to the south-west. No entrance is visible on the roughly fifty-metre diameter structure.
On a slight rise at the W end of a low E-W ridge with higher ground to the W. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 26m E-W; 25.7m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.3m at S to 1.6m at N) separated by a berm (Wth 3.2m at N to 6.3m at S) from a scarp (H 0.6-0.8m), which is incorporated into a field bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) with an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.4m; D 0.1m) S-WSW. There is no visible entrance (max. ext. diam. 50m N-S; 49.3m E-W). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
