Fairy fort in Laharan East, County Cork: a circular earthen enclosure on a north-facing pasture slope above the Brogeen River. It appeared on maps as a hachured ring, kept a visible outer bank in the western field boundary, and was levelled in the early 1970s. What remains is a shallow circular depression and a fence that still bends to mark the forgotten shape.

In pasture, on N-facing slope, overlooking Brogeen River. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured bivallate enclosure (diam. c. 27m) on 1904 OS 6-inch map, with outer bank replaced by field boundary to S and W; bank replaced by hachured scarp and outer bank levelled to ENE on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Circular area (33m N-S) defined by shallow depression (D 0.3m). Outer earthen bank (H 0.8m) survives in field boundary to W, which curves to respect site and is more substantial than surrounding field fences. According to local information levelled early 1970s. Bowman (1934, 478) describes one fort in this townland on J. Casey's land as 'single ramparted, c. 6ft high. Fosse c. 10ft wide, 4ft deep. Diam. 28 yards.'
