What is recorded here

Knocknabooly East once held two earthen rings, but ploughs and boundary changes erased them from the pasture. The lost fort may have sheltered people, marked ownership, or simply given the land an edge that memory could hold. Its absence does not diminish it; it completes the local story, where human making and natural forgetting share one life.

In gently undulating pasture. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Field boundaries in vicinity of site have been removed. Similar enclosure c. 80m to SE (LI018-031---) has also been levelled. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
