What is recorded here

In a re-walkover as part of a planning permission, a potential burnt mound was noted by Rubicon Heritage. A low mound covered with vegetation, c. 10-15m in diameter, was recorded close to a south-eastern field boundary. Heat-shattered sandstone was visible protruding through the vegetation. Burnt mound; date and cultural affiliation uncertain, but likely Bronze Age in origin. These features are often associated with ritual or industrial activities, such as heat-treated stone use in cooking or tanning.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
