Knockloughlin holds a broken fairy fort where a shallow ditch and low bank still mark a circular home on the hill. It overlookes the valley and river below, but overgrowth has swallowed the entrance and reduced the wall to a scar in places. The measurements are small enough to walk around in minutes, yet the shape persists because people made it and forgot it.

Situated on S facing slope on high ground in upland area overlooking valley and river to the S. Circular area (diam 32m N-S) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 1m) which is reduced to a scarp in places and a shallow waterlogged fosse (Wth 2.5m) with possible evidence for an entrance feature at SW. Heavy overgrowth makes examination of possible entrance feature impossible.
