What is recorded here

Knockaunavaddreen holds a thirty-five-metre earthen ring on a gentle east-facing slope, marked clearly on the 1842 Ordnance Survey map. A faint bank still cuts across the interior from the eastern entrance, suggesting the space was divided rather than simply enclosed. The name invites fairy tales, but the earth remembers human hands: someone shaped this circle, entered it eastward, and left a line of soil behind.

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on N side of roadway on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Circular, slightly raised area (35.5m N-S; 35m E-W) defined by slight scarp. Possible entrance to E; remains of linear bank extends from entrance to E and crosses interior for c. 20m in south-westerly direction.
