What is recorded here

Knockacullen holds a forty-eight metre ring of earth and stone, visible only as a shallow northern ditch and a scattered interior surface because ploughing has levelled the rest. The land now yields grain, yet the circular shape still resists the straight line of the furrow. Humans may have lived inside that boundary before forgetting it, or the earth may have simply marked a place worthy of marking.

In tillage. Depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 48m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Slightly raised circular area with external fosse on N side surviving as shallow depression.
