Mong Hill still casts its shadow across the grassy circle at Kiltoghert, where a faint earthen bank and a winding band of reeds mark the edge of an old residence. People called it a fairy fort because human memory had slipped through its rings, but the steady shape suggests someone once lived there beneath the open sky. The field has kept that much of the truth intact.

Located on a rise at the S foot of Mong Hill. This is a grass-covered circular platform (diam. 31m E-W; 30.5m N-S; H 0.7m) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.7m) at SSW which is reduced to a scarp elsewhere and a fosse represented by an external band of reeds (Wth 2-3m) which is most clearly visible W-N. A possible house site consisting of a subrectangular area (dims 4m x 4m) defined by earthen banks (Wth 0.9m; H 0.2m) is outside the perimeter at S.
