Fairy fort in Kiltoghert is an oval earthen ringfort, 56m by 36m, half-hidden in pasture beside a seeping stream. Susan Curran found it through LiDAR for her University College Dublin thesis, proving that fields can conceal whole lives. A farm track still cuts across its middle, perhaps following an old path or perhaps wrecking one. The bank remains thick enough at the southwest to suggest people shaped this place deliberately, then left it to rain, grass and forgetfulness.

Situated on a level area of improved pasture in a poorly drained, low-lying basin, with a small NE-SW stream to the N and W c. 15-20m distant. There is higher ground within 300-500m in all directions, except to the S. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is an oval grass-covered area (dims 56m E-W; 36m N-S) defined by the remains of an earthen bank NE-ESE and SSW-WSW (at SW: Wth of base 5.1m; Wth of top 1.6m; int. H 0.25; ext. H 0.4m), which is reduced to scarp (at SE: Wth 1.4m; H 0.25m) elsewhere. A NNE-SSW farm track bisects the interior. There is no visible fosse or original entrance.
