Fairy forts are not places where fairies danced or lived. They are ordinary human remains, misnamed because people stopped remembering the truth. In Kilrodane the earth still holds two concentric banks, a narrow ditch and an east entrance. That is a made place, not a magical one. The fantasy is in the name, not the ground.

In pasture, on SE-facing slope. Circular area (26.5m N-S; 25.6m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with an intervening fosse. Inner bank (int. H 1.05m; ext. H 1.15m) low internally along E arc and incorporated into field boundary system SSW->NNW. Fosse (Wth 1.4m) is deepest SSW->NNW but covered here by dense overgrowth. External bank (int. H 0.95m; ext. H 0.3m) evident NNW->SSW but overlain by field boundary SSW->NNW. Entrance (Wth 2.7m) through both banks at ESE. Interior, under pasture, slopes down gently towards centre.
