Kilrodane holds a circular earthen chamber twenty-six metres wide, built with two banks and a central ditch on a gentle south-facing slope. The SSE entrance still cuts through both barriers, admitting a waterlogged floor where irises push through rough pasture. Local people called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the dense overgrowth hides the made shape from casual sight. That concealment, not magic, may have saved the structure from being broken open for stone.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Circular area (c. 26m NNW-SSE) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with an intervening fosse (Wth 2.8m). Both inner bank (int. H c. 1m; ext. H 1.45m) and external bank (int. H 1.15m; ext. H 0.6m) are covered by dense overgrowth except SW->N where fosse is used as rubbish dump. Entrance (Wth 2.2m) through both banks at SSE.
