What is recorded here
No visible evidence of a fort at Kilpadder North is found.
Bowman (1934, 594) recorded 'practically levelled' single-ramparted fort (diam. 37yd) on Mr Hunt's land, c. 50yd from residence [Danesfort House], with avenue to house passing through it. Access not gained; house and avenue now gone.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
