Kilmeedy East holds two earth rings, one a shallow scarp and the other a true ringfort, separated by forty metres of pasture beneath Claragh Mountain. The first may have been a boundary marker, a childhood game, or a forgotten home reduced to a suggestion. The second is stronger, its bank still standing after centuries of rain and grass. Together they imply a settled place where people lived, argued, buried or played before the mountain stopped remembering their names.

In pasture, on SSE-facing slope at foot of SE side of Claragh Mountain. Circular area (diam. c. 22m) defined by scarp (H 2.2m) E->SW; earthen bank (H 1.6m) SW->W; slight rise elsewhere. Break in scarp to SSE. Ringfort (CO048-015001-) c. 40m to SSW in adjoining field. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
