One man-made passage in Curragh, County Cork, Ireland, may have led toward Cill M'ide Castle. Broker (1937, 46) wrote that men went in a few hundred yards and found fine rooms roofed with flags. The claim still sounds like a trap set by the earth: a long dark chamber, not a hole, built to be walked.

In ringfort (CO048-006001-). Broker (1937, 46) recorded 'an underground chamber; passage said to lead to Cill M'ide [Kilmeady] Castle (9478). Men went in afew hundred yards. Fine rooms roofed with flags'. U-shaped depression (Wth1.2m; D 0.8m) in S half of ringfort and circular depression (Wth 1m; D0.5m) c. 4m to N may indicate position. Partially embedded stone slab near bank to W may be one of roof flags. According to local information,Man-made underground passage was accessible in recent times.
